DWP 'look out' warning ahead of Universal Credit shakeup

Writer: Joy .OJoy .O

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a "look out" warning to anyone who receives Tax Credits.

On Friday DWP said on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Get ready for the #UniversalCredit switchover There is lots of support to help you make the move". The Government department expects all households claiming legacy benefits and tax credits to have moved across to Universal Credit by September 2024.

The new DWP update included a link to an article which states: "Tax Credits are coming to an end, and most people will need to apply for Universal Credit instead. Look out for a letter called a Universal Credit Migration Notice explaining what you’ll need to do, and by when.
